Ornamental tree from SE Asia.  Flowers range from pale purple to pink, yellow, or white.  Has five fertile stamens compared to Bauhinia purpurea's three, flower buds not winged or five-angled, petals obovate.  Leaves have tendency to wither & create a mess.
