Family Siderastreidae

Easily distinguished by the flower-like 'petaloid' pattern created by enlarged septa and sinuous lines connected to adjacent calices.  Members of this family tend to be overlooked due to small size or drab coloration.

All coral skeletons illustrated are from scientific collections taken prior to 1998.
