FINGER PSAMMOCORA

Uncommon on shallow reefs.  Massive with thick columns, tiny corallites form shallow depressions and the surface is granular, yellow-green or reddish-brown, tentacles extended during the day.  Easily confused with species of Coscinaraea, which have deeper corallites ringed by large granules and wide ridges.  India to New Caledonia and Palau.
