MASSIVE COSCINARAEA

Fairly common on shallow reefs.  Encrusting, sheet-like, or massive, large calices with smooth septo-costae in elongate depressions, tips of tentacles appear as prickly ring around each calyx underwater.  Gray or brown.  Coscinaraea exesa is columnar with rough septo-costae.  Indo-Pacific excluding Hawaii.
