Family Pyramidellidae

Pyramid Shells

Pyramid snails are predatory or parasitic on worms and bivalve mollusks, and tend to be found in eutrophic waters.  They differ from Eulimids and Rissoids in having a heterostrophic protoconch, which is oddly rotated sideways.  Most species are small and fragile, and the group requires more study.
