Erect shrub of mesic & wet forests.  Thin deciduous leaves 1 - 2 inches wide.  Endemic to Hawaii.

Sprawling or decumbent shrub lacking fine hairs or waxy coating.  Occurs in open wet forest, ridges, and bogs.  Stiff narrow-ovate leaves 2 - 4 inches long.  Fruit edible.  Kauai to Hawaii Island, more common on Oahu.  Endemic to Hawaii.

Sprawling or decumbent shrub coated with fine hairs or waxy coating.  Occurs in open disturbed montane areas & lava flows.  Stiff broad leaves 0.5 - 1 inch long.  Fruit eaten raw or jellied.  Kauai to Hawaii Island, only common on Maui & Hawaii Island.  Endemic to Hawaii.

Stiff many-branched shrub common in mesic & wet forests, windswept ridges, lava flows & bogs.  Hard berries red, pink or white.  Native to Hawaii & the Marquesas.  Formerly known as Styphelia tameiameiae and placed in the Family Epacridaceae.
