Small trailing vine abundant on dry rocky coasts & cliffs.  Plants may be shiny or covered with dense silver hairs.  Flower 0.75 inch wide.  Endemic Hawaiian subspecies.  J. ovalifolia ovalifolia occurs in Mexico, the Caribbean, Africa.
