| Glassy, ribbed, limpet-like shell attaches to sea
stars. Sucks bodily fluids from its host. Rarely seen.
The lump on the sea star's upper surface (underside in photo) indicates the
presence of an internal snail parasite, Echineulima robusta, an
endemic species. |
