Snapper-like fishes that are similar to the Lethrinidae, differing in skeletal features and teeth.  They inhabit a wide range of depths and many are commercially important.

Inhabits shallow reefs adjacent to sandy channels.  Attains 11 inches.  Indonesia & the Western Pacific.
