CLEAR TRITON

Fairly common under stones in shallow water.  Exterior cream or yellowish-brown, aperture and columella white.  Attains 1.6 inches, 40mm.  South Africa to Hawaii, French Polynesia, Galapagos, and Florida.  Long misidentified in Hawaii as Cymatium gemmatum, which is now assigned to the rare Monoplex gemmatus.
