GEM TRITON

Very rare in Hawaii but fairly common elsewhere under stones in shallow water.  Fairly slender and lightly sculptured, pale orange or brown, with scattered brown and white marks on varices, aperture white, columella with white teeth.  Attains 1.4 inches, 35mm.  Philippines to Hawaii and the Austral Islands.  Easily confused in Hawaii with the common Monoplex mundus, as previous references called it Cymatium gemmatum.
