POLYNESIAN HELMET

Rare in sand in deep water, usually collected empty or inhabited by a hermit crab.  Outer lip and columella not especially thickened, no teeth on lower portion of outer lip.  Attains 4.1 inches, 105 mm.  Hawaii and Polynesia.
