CRYSTAL LINCKIA LIMPET

These parasitic, limpet-like shells are rare beneath Linckia sea stars.  The shell apex is very short, stout ribs with undulating bumps and narrower interspaces.  Attains 0.5 inch, 12 mm.  Red Sea to Hawaii and the Cook Islands.  The lump on the sea star's upper surface (underside in photo) contains Sea star eulimid, Stilifer linckiae.
