SLUG-LIKE COWRY

Extremely rare in Hawaii as waifs, common elsewhere under rocks or rubble in shallow water.  Dark glossy brown dorsum with white warts, fading to gray soon after death.  Base white with orange-lined teeth not reaching the margin.  Attains 1.5 inches, 39mm.  Red Sea to Japan, Hawaii, and the Tuamotus.
