FUZZY TABLE CORAL
Uncommon on reefs at scuba depth. Forms large
thick tables of upturned branches tipped with many long tubular axial
corallites, immersed radial corallites toward base. Cream, brown or
gray. Acropora granulosa
has fewer, shorter axial corallites. Indonesia to Southern Japan, Samoa, and Central Northwestern
Hawaiian Islands. |
