RIDGED CACTUS CORAL
Uncommon on shallow reefs. Thick plates with
wide shallow valleys radiating from colony origin, sometimes more than
one row of polyps within valleys, concentric to plate edge, surface rough,
mottled gray and brown. Mycetophyllia
aliciae has short ridges or nodules and numerous polyps between. Florida to Venezuela. |
