STINGING LIMU

Abundant on reefs or tangled with other seaweeds.  Composed of frizzy hair-like strands, black fading to yellow, often dislodged and washed ashore.  Produces toxin that causes skin, eye, and respiratory irritation.  Dried material sent airborne causes allergic reactions.
