TURRETED HORN

Common on algal mat of shallow reefs and tidepools.  Turreted-angular with fine granular spirals, and one coarse spiral of conical nodules, dark area on posterior body whorl.  Attains 3/8 inch.  Red Sea to Japam, Hawaii, and the Tuamotus, introduced to the Mediterranean.  Occurs with and similar to Cerithium atromarginatum.
