Cerithium egenum

TURRETED HORN

Common on algal mat of shallow reefs and tidepools.  Turreted with nodular spirals and pointed varices, dark area on posterior body whorl.  Attains 3/8 inch.  Hawaii & the Indo-Pacific, introduced to the Mediterranean.  Occurs with and similar to Cerithium atromarginatum.
