OSTERGAARD'S COWRY

Very rarely found alive under coral rubble deeper than 50 feet.  It is so rare that beachworn shells remain desirable.  The unmarked white base distinguishes it from Honey and Porous cowries.  Attains 1 inch, 25 mm.  Endemic to Hawaii.  Formerly known as Cypraea ostergaardi.
