POROUS COWRY

Uncommon in dead coral deeper than 10 feet.  The base is purple with white teeth, mature shells developing a white dorsal overglaze.  Attains 1.1 inches, 28 mm.  East Africa to Okinawa, Hawaii, and French Polynesia.  Formerly known as Cypraea poraria.
