BOUTET'S CONE

Rare in sand pockets along ledges deeper than 100 feet.  The spire has stepped concave whorls.  Similar to Conus gauguini from the Marquesas Islands.  Attains at least 2.8 inches, 70 mm.  Hawaii, Society, and Tuamotu Islands.
