VARIABLE DOVE SHELL    MOMI

Common under stones or within algal mat in the surf zone.  Color and pattern extremely variable.  Attains 0.4 inch, 11 mm.  East Africa to Japan, Hawaii, and the Galapagos.  Used in Ni'ihau shell lei.
