ZANZIBAR ZOANTHID

Locally common on rock in shallow water.  Medium close-set polyps forming mats, brown with multicolored disc and mouth, tentacles short, column plain.  Attains diameter of 10mm.  Avoid contact since it may contain deadly Palytoxin.  Hawaii & the Indo-Pacific.  Hawaii colonies may be an accidental introduction.
