SAND ANEMONE

Rare except in Kaneohe Bay and Ma'alaea Bay.  Inhabits sand flats and attains 12 inches but usually much less.  Sometimes accompanied by the tiny commensal shrimp, Thor amboinensis, or juvenile Hawaiian Dascyllus.  Hawaii, East Indian Ocean & the Tropical Pacific.
