TAHITIAN PRAWN

Introduced to Hawaii as a food source from the Marquesas Islands, it inhabits deeper sections of streams and brackish water.  Competes and preys upon native stream animals and plants.  Adults have extremely long claws, attaining a total length of 11 inches.  Native range is the Indo-West Pacific.
