Endemic to wet ridges & cliffs of Oahu's Ko'olau range.  Attains height of 30 feet.

Hoomaluhia, Kaneohe, Oahu

MOLOKA'I FAN PALM

Endemic to mesic valleys & inland cliffs of Moloka'i.  Attains height of 12 feet.

Pritchardia remota   

Koko Crater, Oahu

NIHOA FAN PALM

Endemic to Nihoa Island where about 700 remain, it is now widely cultivated in gardens.  Attains height of 15 feet.  Federally listed Endangered Species.

Native to Indo-Malay region but now cultivated in the tropics worldwide.  Plant has a multitude of uses, including dried coconut meat, or copra.  Copra is still an important export from many Pacific islands.  Fresh coconut meat is eaten raw or grated to yield coconut milk.
