HAWAII TREE COTTON    HAU HELE 'ULA

Endangered shrub or small tree of dry forests of North Kona.  Twisted, 6-inch flowers with large toothed bracts, 7-9 lobed leaves with red veins and long petioles.  Endemic genus of four species, three highly endangered and one extinct.
