SMALLTAIL or PENCIL WRASSE

Locally common among rubble & dead coral at scuba depths.  Blue-green male maintains a harem of red females.  Feeds upon small invertebrates.  Attains 5 inches.  Hawai‘i, Southern Japan, and the Indo-Pacific.
