CHINSTRAP or DISAPPEARING WRASSE

Locally common among rubble or Finger coral at scuba depth.  Appears brown at depth with a prominent white stripe on the cheek.  A somewhat shy species which feeds upon small invertebrates.  Attains 4 inches.  Red Sea to Okinawa, Hawai'i, and French Polynesia.
