SPOTTED MACKEREL

Rare in Hawaii, occasionally captured among schools of Akule, Selar crumenophthalmus.   Lacks prominent wavy lines seen on other mackerel.  Prefers cooler subtropical waters around Japan, China, Australia, and New Zealand, but has also been found in the Eastern Pacific, Arabian Sea, and Red Sea.  Attains 19 inches.
