Large schools are seasonally abundant in bays and
harbors. Green above with large eyes and a dark spot at the upper
end of the gill opening. Feeds upon zooplankton and preyed upon by larger
fish. An important food fish in Hawaii. Juveniles are known
as halalū. Attains 11 inches.
Worldwide in warm seas. |
