Cargo Pier, Midway Atoll, 25 feet

Occasional on reefs in quiet water.  Pelvic fins of adults are black.  Attains 17 inches.  Random settlers from the Kuroshio Current were first reported by Dr. John Randall in 1980 under the Cargo Pier at Midway Atoll.  The species was not seen again until we photographed a pair in June 2009.  Sulawesi to Palau, Okinawa, and Hawaii.
