A large deep-bodied fish with numerous stubby chin whiskers rarely seen as pairs or in small groups under ledges at deeper scuba depths around the Main Hawaiian Islands but in as little as 40 feet at Midway Atoll and Japan's Izu Islands.  Feeds upon brittle stars at night.  Attains 12 inches.  Hawai'i, Japan, New South Wales, and New Zealand.
