Fairly common along continental coasts and rarely seen beyond scuba depth in Hawai'i.  Body deeper than the Greater Amberjack and the second dorsal fin is tall and falcate.  Attains 4 feet & 130 pounds.  Subtropical and temperate seas worldwide.
