Cabo Pulmo, Baja California, Mexico, 50 feet

Inhabits rocky reefs but may be seen resting on sand.  Attains 5 inches.  Baja California to Peru and offshore islands.  Replaced by Rypticus saponaceus in the Tropical Western Atlantic.
