Pseudogramma polyacanthum

 PALE-SPOTTED SOAPFISH or PODGE

Very common but rarely seen at night within rubble, dead finger coral, or small crevices.  Easily identified by a large dark spot on the gill cover.  Attains 3.4 inches.  Aprorops bilinearis & Suttonia lineata also occur here.  Hawaii & the Indo-Pacific.
