species uncommon among rubble or ledges exposed to current at deeper
scuba depths where it feeds upon encrusting invertebrates.
Gray-brown with irregular blotches and yellow eyes. Attains 6 inches.
Endemic to Hawai‘i. Related to Cantherhines fronticinctus of the Indo-Pacific.
