Outer Reef, Sandy Beach, Oahu, 50 feet

A rare species observed in crevices at scuba depths.  Relatively shy compared to other morays.  Dark brown overall with strongly curved jaws and large nostrils.  Attains 5 feet.  Reported from scattered locations of the Indo-Pacific and Tropical Eastern Pacific.
