A rare species observed in crevices at scuba depth.  Relatively shy compared to other morays.  Dark brown overall with strongly curved jaws and large nostrils.  Attains 99 inches.  Reported from scattered locations from Reunion to Japan, Hawaii, Mangareva, and Panama.
