BRIGHT-EYE DAMSELFISH
Common on shallow reefs and
tidepools exposed to surge.
A solitary territorial fish that darts rapidly
between holes in the reef and feeds upon small invertebrates. Pale
gray with a greenish head fading to yellow toward the tail, bright
silver iris crossed by a black vertical bar. Attains 2.5 inches.
East Africa to Okinawa, Hawai'i and Pitcairn. |
