Locally common on sheltered reefs and lagoons.  Delicate clumps or thickets of short bottle-brush branchlets, numerous axial corallites and reduced radial corallites, golden-brown, white axial corallites give a dotted appearance.  Andaman Islands to Okinawa and the Society Islands.
