AUSTERE ACROPORA 

Uncommon on shallow reefs exposed to wave action.  Bushy with divergent branches with many axes giving it a ragged appearance.  Axial corallites broad with a small opening, and cylindrical radial corallites of varying size.  Yellowish brown or bluish purple with light branch tips  Indo-Pacific excluding Hawaii.
