BROWN CABBAGE or VASE CORAL
Fairly common on fringing reefs and lagoon patch
reefs. Predominantly upright plates, often contorted or irregular
in shallow habitats, crowded, exsert calices 2.5mm in diameter, greenish
or grayish-brown. Forms a species complex with
Turbinaria
reniformis, which largely differs in color. Red Sea to the
Austral Islands, excluding Hawaii.
