ROUGH CORAL

Rare in deep water.  Forms encrustations, plates, and occasionally tubes.  Septa are wavy with rough texture, calices are elevated and tilted toward the outside.  Leptoseris hawaiiensis is similar septa are less contorted.   Hawaii, Indo-Pacific & Tropical Eastern Pacific.
