RED PTEROCLADIA

Abundant on basalt in the surf zone near freshwater seeps.  Important food source of Green Sea Turtles.  Dark red to yellow, thin flat branches twice divided with Christmas-tree arrangement.  Warm and temperate seas worldwide.  Formerly known as Pterocladia capillacea.
