Psilaxis oxytropis

   

OXYTROPIS SUNDIAL

Uncommon in sand & rubble deeper than 160 feet where it feeds upon anemones.  Color variable, protoconch brown with a white cloud.  Psilaxis radiatus has a white protoconch.  Attains diameter of 0.8 inch, 19mm.  Red Sea to Japan, Hawaii, and the Cook Islands.  Formerly known as Philippia oxytropis.
