HAWAIIAN OLIVE
| Fairly common in coarse sand at any depth.
A rapid crawler that exudes acidic mucus to stun buried shrimp.
The degree of brown is variable among individuals within a population. Attains 1.5 inch,
32 mm. Endemic to Hawaii.
The parent species ranges throughout the Indo-West Pacific. Formerly known as Oliva paxillus sandwicensis. |
