| Uncommon under dead coral deeper
than 15 feet. Stout, with spiral rows of pits, subtle axial ribs, and scattered coronations below the suture, dark brown
with a broad white zone below the suture, dead shells fading orange. Attains 1.6
inches, 40 mm. Okinawa to Hawaii and the Society Islands. Formerly known as Mitra (Nebularia) lugubris. |
