MITER
| Uncommon under dead coral or rubble
deeper than 30 feet. Spire turreted, outer lip constricted, suture
slightly crenulate, spiral rows of shallow pits, dark brown with scattered
white flecks, aperture orange with denticulate outer lip. Attains 2
inches, 50 mm. Mascarenes to Japan, Hawaii, and the Tuamotus.
Formerly known as Mitra (Nebularia) fulvescens. |
