HAWAIIAN SNAKE-TONGUE MITER

Common under rocks on shallow reefs and tidepools.  Live shells coated with thin brown periostracum.  Attains 1.5 inches, 37 mm.  Endemic to Hawaii.  Related to the Indo-Pacific Nebularia pellisserpentis Formerly known as Mitra (Strigatella) pelisserpentis.
