SPINY SLIPPER LIMPET
| Abundant in bays and harbors, attached to boats, docks, and
pilings. Shell conforming to the substrate, shape, sculpture, and color variable,
with a two-lobed shelf within. Attains 1.5
inches, 38mm. A worldwide invasive species introduced to Hawaii by ships during
World War Two. Formerly known as Crepidula aculeata. |
